Company/Organization Volunteering

Interested in getting your coworkers together for a volunteer workday? Come on out to Victory Garden Initiative and strengthen your teamwork and communication skills by getting down in the soil with us! Volunteer groups are a great way to assist VGI with building our food producing capabilities, from clearing pesky weeds to much needed watering. Our 1.5-acre urban farm can be a lot to maintain with a small staff, so we’d love for you to find a time to work alongside us!

Service Learners

We are lucky to be surrounded by so many educational institutions with service learning programs and students full of passion for helping out in their communities! At Victory Garden Initiative, we have the capacity to host up to 10 service learners a semester from a combination of the surrounding universities. If you are enrolled in a Service Learning course with your university and are looking for a placement, we may be the place for you!

Tasks at Victory Garden Initiative vary depending on the semester you are serving your placement with us! During winter months, Service Learners can expect to aid with seed starting and farmhouse updates such as painting walls, organizing, and other administrative tasks. During the spring and summer tasks around the farm will focus on outdoor work like weeding, watering, planting, and completing projects. This work is physical and takes place in conditions from cool weather and drizzle, to hot humid temps. Please dress accordingly and communicate any needed accommodations with our Volunteer Programs Coordinator!
