Victory Garden Urban Farm
At our 1.5 acre urban farm campus we produce food to feed the community. We do this through our roadside farmstand, farmer’s market sales, CSA subscription boxes, community garden rentals, and wholesale to local restaurants.
Farmraiser
Our annual Farmraiser event takes place in September and is a community celebration of the harvest season and a fundraiser to support our work at our Victory Garden Urban Farm Campus. We block off the street in front of our farm and invite the community in for delicious locally sourced food made with produce from the farm, live music, raffles, silent auctions, kids activities, and more!
Food Leader Certificate Program
Each year we offer a retreat style extended workshop series for community members who are interested in taking their activism to the next level. Participants learn about growing food, food justice, community organizing, and leadership. Upon completion of the program, Food Leaders will be presented with a formal Food Leader Certificate.
Great Milwaukee Victory Garden Blitz
Each year VGI rallies to install raised garden beds throughout Milwaukee county in backyards, schools, places of worship, businesses, vacant lots and more. We are closing in on the 5000 mark and are continually amazed at and grateful to the number of people in this community who want to join our movement to grow local food!
Move Grass Classes
Throughout the year, VGI offers a variety of educational classes and workshops. Topics vary but include things such as cooking demonstrations, composting 101, beekeeping, fermentation, herbal teas, raised bed gardening and more. These workshops are a low-cost option to help community members learn to engage with the local food system.
Youth Education Programs
VGI runs year-round, hands-on garden-based programming for youth in our target neighborhoods of Harambee and Riverwest. We run After-School Garden Clubs, Summer AgriCorps, Farm Field Trips, and Earn & Learn programming at our Urban Farm Campus and community partner locations.
