Volunteer with Victory Garden Initiative!
VGI volunteers are some of the most hard-working, interesting and passionate people we know. Volunteering with VGI gives you the opportunity to not just hope for a better future, but ENGAGE IN MAKING IT A REALITY. Plus, you’ll get to meet some really inspiring people in the process!
Volunteers are the heart and soul of what Victory Garden Initiative does, and we can’t wait to get you plugged in to one of our community-changing projects. Most people are interested in two main opportunities: working on our 1.5 acre farm alongside our farm staff and helping to build raised beds in our Blitz program every May! In addition, you can volunteer to be a Garden Mentor, help out with our big community events, and staffing outreach events to spread the word about our programs and mission! While we often have office volunteer tasks, as our staff grows and we focus on internal restructuring, we are not seeking volunteers in this area at this time. Please feel free to reach out to us with your interests on our Contact Us page however!
Volunteer at the Great Milwaukee Victory Garden Blitz!
Click Here to find information on how to sign up for shifts at the Blitz any day of the event: May 9th-23rd, 2020. You can read the detailed volunteer guide that will let you know what to expect and see how you can sign your whole group of friends, family, or co-workers for a fun social event! Or, head over here to see how to become a Garden Mentor for our new Blitz bed recipients!
Volunteer at the Victory Garden Urban Farm!
Please stay tuned for information on how to volunteer on our Urban Farm. We have just hired a new Full-Time Farm Manager and will be tweaking our system a bit. We thank you for your patience while our new manager settles into his new role! In the meantime, if you have a group you want to bring to the farm, you can contact our Co-Executive Director, Christine, to set that up for anytime June-October this season!
