Our vision is to have every school teaching kids the importance of growing their own food with on-site school gardens and using this space as an outdoor learning lab to connect to their regular classroom curriculum in math, science, language, arts, social studies and more! We partner with local elementary schools with on-site gardens to help coordinate school garden clubs. When we partner with a school, we offer once-a-week garden session and work with staff throughout the first year(s) to eventually take over this programming on their own so that we can step out.
Currently, we are working with Pierce Elementary School in the Riverwest Neighborhood but we are always looking to expand! Contact us if you are interested in setting up a garden club at your school. If you don’t already have a garden, every May VGI hosts the Victory Garden Blitz and can work with you to install beds at your location!
