For many years, VGI has hosted our annual Farmraiser dinner and community celebration on our farm at the end of each growing season. We close down our street and gather hundreds of our friends and neighbors together to eat amazing food made by local community restaurants using our produce. We have live music all night, bonfires, games for kids, and even community booths. But, due to Covid19 we had to cancel the event in 2020. We had so many people stopping us in the street to ask when the part was gonna be and it felt terrible to say we couldn’t do it. So, we decided to host smaller dinners, serving take away meals out our kitchen window with some socially distanced seating available at the farm. This was a HUGE success and thus CULTIVATE HARAMBEE was born!

Throughout the 2021 growing season we will be hosting these small Covid safe dinners. We will be adding back in some of the festival feel with some performers and community art. Right now, we are still working on finalizing plans but we have the dates ready for you to mark your calendars! This is a free event with free food and drinks, however donations are always appreciated!

Covid Safety Plan (we will update this in April when plans are finalized, but for now bear in mind these general rules we have in place:
  • Attendees are required to wear masks and practice social distancing while in the line to get their food and while moving about between the Farm and Farmhouse. You may remove your mask while seated and eating/watching any entertainment.
  • Tables for eating will be spaced out for social distancing. Please do not combine tables.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at multiple locations and we ask that you disinfect your table and chairs before and after use with the provided spray bottles.
  • Food will be prepared and packaged by staff, this is not our usual buffet.
